Mentor the next generation of International Students as they navigate their careers

All The Necessary Features To Elevate your Mentorship Journey

We want you to focus on what matters — mentoring and creating an impact!

Let us worry about all the logistics and technicality behind it all.

Group sessions are designed to allow mentors to connect with several mentees at once. All within the Navigrated platform. Sessions are usually an hour long, followed by 30 minutes of Q&A.

Share your knowledge, experiences, and insights in our weekly sessions, where mentees are eager to learn from seasoned professionals like you.

We understand that our mentors are very busy professionals and so we’ve structured these sessions to be flexible to fit your schedule. We only ask for two hours of your time every few months, allowing you to contribute meaningfully without overcommitting.

If you have more than just a couple of hours to mentor, you’ll love our one-on-one mentorship feature built right into the platform.

After attending your group sessions, our members can book personalised one-on-one sessions with you based on your availability, allowing them to gain deeper insights and tailored advice.

This feature lets you continue helping members individually while being compensated for your time. Participation is completely optional, but many mentors find it fulfilling to offer ongoing guidance beyond group discussions, with the added benefit of earning for the personalised support they provide.

Our Help Forum is designed for high-quality discussions. Members ask specific, career-related questions, and only approved mentors like you can offer guidance—ensuring valuable, focused conversations.

Showcase what defines your professional journey. Your profile highlights your education, work experience, achievements, and includes an availability calendar for 1-on-1 paid sessions. Everything is customizable to reflect your unique expertise.

You do not ever have to leave the platform for Zoom, Teams, or search for meeting links. All your meetings are hosted within our platform. And upon the mentor’s discretion, all meetings can be recorded with a simple click – only you and your mentee would have an option to watch later.

Mentor FAQS

To become a mentor, you should have proven experience and expertise in your industry, which can be demonstrated through your career or entrepreneurial achievements. What’s equally important is your ability to relate to the challenges our community faces and your genuine desire to help others succeed. We ask for a commitment of at least a couple of hours every few months to mentor. It’s less about monetary benefits and more about giving back and making a meaningful impact on someone’s journey.

We carefully select each mentor based on their proven success, expertise, and most importantly, their genuine commitment to giving back.

Most of our mentors are accomplished professionals with impressive track records in their industries—people who would typically be out of reach or very expensive to approach in a commercial setting.

But they’ve joined us because they truly believe in our mission and want to help international students and professionals overcome the unique challenges they face.

Our vetting process ensures that every mentor we bring on board is not only experienced but also genuinely passionate about making a difference.

Group Sessions are structured and designed to provide valuable insights to a larger audience.

Before the session, you’ll have access to our team to help you prepare any slides or materials you’d like to use, ensuring you feel fully supported. What you discuss during these sessions is flexible—you can plan a structured talk on specific industry insights or leave it more open for a dynamic conversation.

During these sessions, popular topics often include:

  • How to land a job in your industry: Share practical tips on job search strategies, applications, and navigating the hiring process.
  • Breaking into a particular field: Discuss the specific skills and experiences needed to succeed in your profession or niche.
  • Personal career journey: Offer mentees an inside look into your own career path, including the challenges you faced and how you overcame them.

After the main discussion, there will always be a Q&A session with our community members, where you can expect questions about career progression, the hiring process, interview preparation, company culture, and more. These sessions are designed to provide real, actionable advice to those looking to advance their careers.

One-on-one sessions are more intimate and tailored to the specific needs of the mentee. These conversations can cover a wide range of topics, depending on what the mentee is seeking guidance on. Here are some common topics that often come up in these sessions:

  • Career guidance: Helping mentees understand their career options and navigate challenges they might face as international students or professionals.
  • Interview preparation: Offering tips and mock interviews to help mentees prepare for an upcoming job interview.
  • Application advice: Reviewing a mentee’s CV, cover letter, or portfolio to ensure they are positioning themselves for success.
  • Industry insights: Sharing what it’s really like to work in your field, including advice on company culture, growth opportunities, and career paths.
  • Networking and personal branding: Helping mentees build their professional networks and develop their personal brand.

These one-on-one sessions allow for a more focused discussion, giving mentees the chance to dive deeper into their specific challenges. Based on your initial conversation, you may decide to create a longer-term mentoring plan that better addresses their needs.

As a mentor, we advise you to guide the discussion in a way that adds value and supports the mentee.

You’re leading the conversation, so it’s important to actively listen, empathize, and identify critical points in the mentee’s journey where your insights can help.

You can best help by

  • Guiding the conversation: Ensure the discussion stays productive and relevant.
  • Empathizing: Put yourself in the mentee’s shoes and provide advice based on their situation.
  • Offering new perspectives: Help mentees see things they might not have considered before.
  • Ending with actionable steps: Whenever possible, wrap up the session by providing clear action points the mentee can follow.

Navigrated applies a small platform fee on each payment processed through the site. This helps cover the costs of maintaining the platform and providing services to both mentors and mentees.

Here’s how it works with an example:

We apply a 15% platform fee on the price you set for your sessions. So, if you charge £50 for a one-on-one session, the mentee will pay £50 in total. From this, we’ll deduct 15% as our platform fee, which leaves £42.50. Additionally, there’s a small processing fee (about 2.5%) charged by our payment provider, Stripe. After that, the remaining amount is yours.

In this example, after the 15% platform fee and the Stripe fee, you’d receive around £41.

Currently, we process mentor payments at the end of every month. Payments are made on the 27th, and you can expect the funds to reach you within 3 to 7 days, depending on your chosen payout method. You can receive your earnings via Stripe, PayPal, or UK Bank Transfer. For international payments, feel free to get in touch with our mentor support team to discuss the best options.

In the near future, we plan to introduce two payment cycles each month, so you can expect to be paid every two weeks instead of once a month.

Yesss, we are asking for a lot of information at the Registration Stage, and there’s a good reason for it.

We really want to showcase you—your experience, your journey, your expertise—in the best possible way to our community of international professionals. The more we know about you, the better we can help potential mentees find the perfect match.

This helps avoid mismatches and ensures that you can spend time focusing on what really matters—building those valuable connections and making a difference.

Your time is precious, and how you decide to value it is completely your choice.

Some mentors prefer to offer even 1-1 sessions for free if they feel the mentee truly deserves it, and that’s amazing!

But we also understand that your time has worth and we expect you to charge. We do suggest considering the financial situation of international students and young professionals, who may have limited budgets.

Think of your rate as a token of appreciation, perhaps equivalent to a coffee or lunch, rather than a commercial fee you would generally charge.

We’ve made scheduling as easy as possible—no need to worry about calculating time zones!

Our system automatically adjusts to your local time, so when you’re looking at session times, they’ll always be displayed in your time zone. It’s one less thing for you to think about, so you can focus on what you do best: helping your mentees.

We love shining a spotlight on our mentors! Not only will we promote your profile through our social media and channels, but we also share it with our 85,000-strong community of international students and professionals.

To make it even more personal, we encourage you to share a little about your journey—maybe a short video (written text will do too) about how you got to where you are now. This helps us connect the right mentees to you and makes it more exciting for them to book a session with someone who truly understands their path. We’ll promote your profile before and after your sessions, so the right people always know when and how to reach you.

To access your full Navigrated mentor profile, a user would need to be a registered member. This helps ensure that only those genuinely interested in connecting with mentors like you have access.

However, when we promote your upcoming sessions or highlight you as a mentor, we might share small snippets of your profile and some key details with a wider audience on our social media. This gives potential mentees a glimpse of who you are and why they should connect with you.

For one-on-one sessions, as soon as a mentee books time with you, you’ll be able to chat with them directly within the portal. If either of you needs to reschedule, you can easily arrange that through the chat feature. You also have the option to initiate a live video chat by clicking the video button in the chat section, which sends a link to the mentee, so the session can be started seamlessly within the portal. Your booked sessions will be displayed under “My Students” for easy tracking.

For group sessions, if you need to cancel or reschedule, we kindly ask for at least seven days’ notice. This allows us to either find a replacement mentor or inform the attendees who are eagerly waiting for your session. To reschedule, simply reach out to your dedicated mentor support team, and they will guide you through the next steps.

Group sessions are designed to allow mentors to connect with multiple mentees at once. They are usually an hour long, followed by 30 minutes of Q&A.

After attending a group session, mentees have the option to book a private session with you based on your availability. These one-on-one meetings allow you to dive deeper into their specific questions and provide tailored advice.

It’s a fulfilling way to continue helping individuals on a more personal level, with the added benefit of compensation for your time. While optional, many of our mentors find one-on-one sessions to be a rewarding way to build ongoing relationships with mentees beyond the group format.
